10 Ways To Stay Energized Through The Day

Many of us have a hard time trying to focus throughout the day. We have such busy lives that our systems are put into shock and we feel completely drained throughout the whole day. There are ways to keep us energized and ready to tackle every day.

1. In order to start the day off energized you need to eat a wholesome breakfast. Try eating whole grain with fruit, skim or soy milk, and maybe you can add some lean protein. Oatmeal is the best whole grain to eat. You may even be able to find a few cereals that you would like.

2. Whoever said there was anything wrong with snacking was wrong. It’s a great idea to have protein and a carbohydrate in your snack to help fuel your body. You can try having a yogurt with a peach or low fat string cheese with an apple.

3. Make sure that you don’t eat lunch too late in the day. It is not good to wait until you are starving. Instead eat it during the mid-day to help fuel your body and keep your blood glucose levels normal.

4. In order to boost your mental energy you should have omega 3 fatty acids. You can do this by eating light salmon or tuna during lunch or walnuts, tofu, and canola oil. These healthy fats help you to feel full longer through the day

5. At the beginning of your day you can have a small amount of caffeine to help increase your mental energy. However, keep your eye out and make sure you don’t have too much. Too much will cause you too crash in the middle of the day and leave you tired.

6. Whatever you do you need to avoid eating foods that are high in sugar. Processed foods to not give you any energy and can leaving you feeling tired through the middle of the day.

7. Eat foods that are have high levels of blood folate. These foods will help you to get things done faster and allow you to think better. The best foods with this are black beans, broccoli, avocado, chickpeas, lentils, asparagus, and orange juice.

8. Just like having a snack before lunch can be good you can have one before dinner. Only though if you are going to eat a late dinner. Keep to the fruits, veggies, and yogurts.

9. Eating complex carbohydrates that have fiber are great for your body The fiber helps the carbs to release slowly and to give you energy throughout the day. The best to eat are whole wheat pasta, brown rice, whole grain bread, and whole grain cereals.

10. The most important thing you can do is to keep yourself hydrated. When you are dehydrated your energy level will drop dramatically. Water is the best thing that you can consume for your body.
