Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease is a disorder of the brain. It was named after Alois Alzheimer a German physician after he was able to discover what it is and what it can do to people back in 1906. Since then scientists have been able to discover more about the effects that Alzheimer’s disease has on people.

We have learned over the years that Alzheimers is a fatal brain disease that more than 5 million Americans live with. It can break down brain cells that affect our memory and the way we act and think. Those who suffer from Alzheimers have a hard time remembering anything and are often put into a special home because they are unable to work or take care of themselves. It has become the seventh leading cause of death in America.
